Regarding my educational background and professional experience, I hold a doctorate in African Studies/International Development from Howard University in Washington D.C. I finished my master?s in international relations at The New School?s Graduate Program in International Affairs (GPIA) in New York City. I earned my bachelor?s in political science from the University of California at Los Angeles. Additionally, I have international field experience in Central (Costa Rica) and South (Argentina) America, and also in West Africa (Ghana and Senegal) before and during my graduate programs.
While pursuing my Ph.D., I have completed the Prepare Future (University) Faculty Program and worked as a teaching and research assistant. As a research assistant, I helped co-author and edit a manuscript of an updated encyclopedia on South Africa, which was around 350 pages. As a teaching assistant/associate, I prepared lectures and various pedagogical materials, graded student exams and papers, and designed an undergraduate course syllabus. In addition to my academic qualifications, I?m very knowledgeable about different personality types and learning styles, from Gallup Strength Finder to Myer-Briggs Type Indicator and DISC Profile.
My rates are $30 per hour. Far as I know, this is the current standard fee for tutoring and for most academic services. However, the price is negotiable. Depending on your budget, deadline, the amount and difficulty of the task(s), as well as our personal rapport; I?m open to a price that is affordable for you and fair for me. For essay topics outside of my professional field, I?m more than happy to read and provide general feedback for between $5 to $15. Client accolades, writing samples, and degree verifications are available upon request.
