The Manager of Merchandise Operations is responsible for leading the operation and evolution of the DSW Inc. Purchase Order Management (POM) team along with being a business lead for Supply Chain and Merchandising projects. Reports to Senior Manager of Merchandise Solutions. 3 direct reports, approximately 10 indirect reports.
Must possess the ability to:
* Manage the POM team, comprised of an EDI Supervisor, POM Supervisors, and Purchase Order Specialists. The POM team is responsible for the management and accuracy of purchase orders for DSW Stores, and affiliated businesses. This includes:
* Ensuring the accuracy of styles, purchase orders, and approval requirements
* Prioritization of workflow for the department
* Continually reviewing, enhancing, and implementing processes as the business evolves
* Build and cultivate strong business relationships, function as primary contact for the POM process with internal merchandising teams and external vendors
* Coordinate training of associates. Ensure new associates have detailed training of current systems and future system enhancements and functionality
* Assist with vendor compliance of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) requirements with internal and external resources
* Act as the primary liaison between the business and IT with regards to system issues, enhancements, and projects with regards to the company Merchandise Management System (MMS).
* Act as a business representative in Supply Chain projects outside of the POM realm, including areas such as size and price optimization, assortment planning, and allocation
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a corporate retail environment
* Knowledge of merchandise management systems required, experience with Jesta MMS desired
* Planning and/or Allocation experience in a corporate retail environment desired
* Knowledge of purchase order management systems and EDI desired
* Detailed knowledge of merchandising systems and processes
* Ability to identify and resolve business and system issues
* Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of business and technical management
* Highly motivated with excellent planning and follow:up skills, including the ability to meet aggressive deadlines
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills
* Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to take a leadership role in projects
* Four year college degree required
