POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing strong leadership, addressing budgetary objectives, and managing associates assigned. The Operations Manager trains, evaluates, motivates, delegates, and monitors the activities of all associates reporting to this position. They will ensure that daily departmental goals are met using a People First philosophy to achieve established objectives in Safety, Service, Quality, and Cost.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
* Responsible for all operational facets of department
* Maintain associate records: attendance and performance
* Establish and promote hard work ethics through teamwork and collaboration with associates and peers while promoting safety awareness and cultivate the safety culture throughout the company
* Embrace the "People First" philosophy and Williams:Sonoma, Inc's Open Door Policy
* Plan, track and manage the productivity, accuracy and efficiency of the warehouse staff: meeting all required metrics and setting new standards as the operation progresses: driving continuous improvement and customer service
* Assist in management of regional Hub, picking, returns operations, customer service and scheduling for the Columbus Regional Operations coverage area
* Hold self and others accountable in a fast paced distribution environment
* Develop strategic and tactical plans and execute successfully to ensure facility excels in areas such as cost, service, safety and inventory integrity
REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS:
* A 4 year Bachelors degree in the field of Logistics/Transportation preferred
* 3:5 years management experience
* 1 year experience managing 3rd party providers
* Strong customer service background
* Strong background in Microsoft applications
* Routing/scheduling experience preferred
* Experience with P and L management and performance metrics
* Self:starter that can excel in newly created position
* Experience with "white glove" home furniture deliveries is a plus
