Responsible for growing and cultivating client relationships and managing the Retail Credit Card Portfolio(s). Sells Alliance Data products and services. Works with account team and internal partners to develop marketing programs around Account Management plans to increase credit sales. Participates as a key market differentiator for Alliance Data through the acquisition and application of intricate industry, market, and client knowledge. Coordinates with internal teams to develop value added programs to meet the needs of the client. Learns and practices the Alliance Data selling philosophy and methodologies. In conjunction with Alliance Data client support team, provides recommendations to clients on data marketing, payments solutions, and customer loyalty. Develops and enhances relationships with internal partners via account management practices and is involved in leading internal account management teams.Supervision Received: Reports to Senior Client Sales Manager or Client Sales DirectorSupervision Exercised: May supervise 1-3 Senior Client Sales Coordinators and/or Client Sales Coordinators.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates Strategic Account Management (SAM) by leveraging internal partners to ensure initiatives support the Client and Alliance Data. Manages the business plan and activities based around needs assessment and program ideation. Learns and practices the Alliance Data selling philosophy and methodologies. Provides strategic updates on initiatives to senior leadership on a regular basis.Leverages internal partners to gain an understanding of business analysis reporting, the competitive landscape, and key measures to identify opportunities for growth. Integrates Alliance Data and Retail offerings to build a business plan for the client. Participates in client negotiation discussions based on analysis and recommendations from SAM plan.Transforms business information and data into Critical Few Initiatives (CFIs) via the SAM process by building a foundational business case for each initiative. Conducts new idea generation activities during the appropriate stage of the account management process to create new activities around each CFI.Participates in the budgeting and forecasting of client portfolios. Reviews client performance with Business Analysis team to revise budgets and forecasts. Ensures budgeted targets for revenue and profitability are being met by reviewing marketing program performance. Provides regular updates to senior leadership.Participates in and/or leads meetings between key client contacts and Alliance Data to discuss marketing plans, sell new products, resolve open issues and provide progress updates. Conveys a vision for the long term growth of the portfolio. Prepares and presents client presentations based on research, client deliverables and proactive analysis on recommendations for marketing programs.Partners with Sales Support team to ensure marketing programs deliver value and work toward successfully meeting the agreed upon goals for each critical initiative. Adjusts strategy to increase effectiveness of programs based on performance.Participates in the implementation of new clients to ensure execution of collateral, marketing plans and overall SAM plan.Oversees the resolution of escalated issues related to marketing programs, call center operations, and store operations. Guides issue resolution communication with Sales Support team and follows through with client when necessary.Participates in Business Intelligence Review, including daily review of various resources to stay up to date on articles, trends, or discussions that may impact the client’s business.Partners with Field Sales and participates in store visits to ensure credit programs are being implemented.Provides coaching to Coordinators and creates mentoring opportunities for learning and development. Conducts touch bases with direct reports on a regular basis. Works with associates to create development plans based on their goals and level of performance. Guides associate behavior by leading with and demonstrating attitudinal leadership.
