Job Summary:
Category Management is responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies to leverage relationships within the business or across the enterprise to achieve the best total value and service. This includes developing relationships with business partners to focus on category and/or commodity management strategies and execution, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations and management, risk management, and supply base performance management. This position will be internal and external client facing and plays a key role in the training and sharing innovative solutions to control costs and provide a competitive advantage.
Essential Job Functions:
Collateral Development : Assists in acquiring details to form sourcing strategy specific for multiple and/or complex categories that aligns with Retail. Partners with internal groups to assess the scope of a client request. Partners with the supplier services team to assist in the facilitation of collateral development and new business implementations and existing business rebrandings. Requires individual to provide sourcing and consultation to sales team, central processing center, accounting, and finance.
Relationship Management : The responsibility of this role will require building and developing strong relationships with multiple business partners. Through strong collaboration, this role should integrated in to the business unit which they support and proactively seek out future opportunities while providing solutions to address current needs that will lead to increased overall success for the company.
Sourcing : Maintains existing category sourcing strategies while monitoring and capturing cost savings and avoidance. This includes, but is not limited to, coordinating testing, market research, contract negotiation, and maintaining existing product contingency planning that results in potential opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, lead time reduction, and risk mitigation to support the growth of the company.
Supplier Management : Responsible for tracking and maintaining current supplier capabilities, equipment list, and lead times. Perform supplier onboarding functions that include vendor due diligence and contract reviews that result in maintaining a diverse supply base. Responsible for supplier issue resolutions that include on:time deliveries, quality concerns, other potential issues. Assist with implementing and maintaining SRM data by supplier and category.
Projects and RFxs : Requires the ability to support, manage, and influence multiple projects and RFxs for varying areas of the business. This includes supplier identification, engagement, facilitating events, and providing recommendations to internal stakeholders while adhering to the procurement process and company policy.
Analytics : Tracks and documents category analytics, trend analysis, category expense reporting, material specifications, and maintains department reference guides to assist with company sourcing strategies.
Requirements and Qualifications:
:Minimum of a Bachelor Degree
:1:2+ years experience, Procurement and/or Supply Chain experience is preferred.
:Working knowledge of print methods, Information Technology, and/or business services is a plus.
:Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
