Hillcrest Baptist Church in Columbus Ohio is seeking a part-time director of student ministries (15-20 hours a week). Our objective in our student ministries is to have: A ministry that focuses on creating authentic relationships in the context of passionate devotion to Jesus and intentional discipleship? plus fun.
Hillcrest?s hope is that all involved in our student ministries would love young people where they are, encourage them with in their journey of faith, provide opportunities for them to grow in their devotion of Jesus and serve the mission He gives?all the while having fun in a community of young people.
Hillcrest?s student ministries range from children to college/young adult but the position we are seeking would meet the needs we have for our middle school through college age. A more tailored focus for each ministry and hours devoted to each ministry would be developed once a candidate is in the interview process.
Hillcrest is located in an urban setting with amazing growth opportunity. We are a young congregation with an average age of around 35 years old. Our worship style is contemporary and our mission is to change the world. For the person that is led to partner with us; compensation would include salary as well as housing.
Qualifications:
- Must be a born again believer in Jesus Christ
- Meet the biblical definition of a leader found in 1 Tim. 3
- Maintain a heart for young people and a servant?s ?lead like Jesus? approach
- Ability to motivate, train and direct with a positive attitude
- Support the mission and passions of Hillcrest Baptist Church
- Ability to work with volunteers and maintain healthy and inspiring relationships with young people, parents, church staff, congregation and community.
- Leadership experience in youth ministries
- Advanced Education in leadership, biblical studies and or student ministries is encouraged but not required.
